Check out the cover of the latest ScotsGay Magazine – it’s my photo of the beautiful Leyla Rose, taken after her performance at Velvet a couple of weeks back. There’s a gorgeous double page spread of the photos from Utter Gutter from the end of March and Velvet from a couple of weeks back in the mag too, which made me smile for a very special reason – this is my last issue of ScotsGay! I’m going to be working for a new magazine as resident photographer and ad sales manager, starting later this week. The mag hasn’t been launched yet, so it’s all shrouded in mystery…but all will be revealed soon, so watch this space!
That delicious creature up there is Cam from Edinburgh rock band, Lycanthrope. I had a fashion shoot planned with him and the rest of the band came too…we invaded the back room of Sofi’s Bar (the Shore end of Henderson Street, Leith) where we were given bin bags full of empties kindly kept for us by the bar to decorate the room.
You might recognise this gorgeous lady…it’s the lovely Elisabeth Kitty who looked fabulous in a sexy leather corset (and rather disturbing gas mask!) and terrifying with chains round her neck last Sunday night. All for photographs – as far as I’m aware Elisabeth doesn’t wear gas masks or hang herself from hooks in the wall for entertainment. You can see more of her on ViolentlyBeautiful.com, which has just had a big update with lots of new shoots.
Check out that luscious object. It’s my new phone, the delectable Nokia e61 smartphone, and it is very much satisfying my gadgetry fetish right now. Unfortunately I can’t really use it yet because I’m waiting for my number to be transferred over from my old service provider, but I’m enjoying playing with it. It seems the E-Series phones have quite a cult following. If you have one or are thinking of getting one, visit E-Series.org for lots of info, pictures and links to places to get themes and other software.
I’ve spent a blissful day chilling out on the couch, MacBook on lap, working on photos and doing stuff online. I’m slightly recovering from last night’s party. It was a friend’s birthday which started out as a barbeque and ended in a wonderful riot which lasted into the not-so-early hours of this morning. I was mildly disturbed by how many people were collecting evidence of misbehaviour on videophones, but I think I kept myself well out of sight of the evil machines. During my day of chilling, I have enjoyed many things which I feel the need to share. I am currently loving…Extras (a brilliantly politically incorrect tv show written by and starring Ricky Gervais), Jeremy Clarkson (who uttered the words “…a speed camera, or as I prefer to call them, Piggy Banks”) and Brett Anderson’s new album. I am also loving the powers-that-be at deviantART for making me a senior member. The title itself makes me feel slightly old, but it was a lovely surprise to log in the other day and see a ‘ in front of my username instead of the usual =. That will only make sense to people on DA

Congrats on the deviantart honor. Don’t look at it as being old, but being a longstanding and loyal member of the creative community. That’s a nice new phone you have there. Hopefully everything will be changed over soon so you can fully play around with it the way you want to. Love the hanging pic of Elisabeth Kitty. BTW, not sure if you saw my post or not, but the pics are up that I took. At the top of the page is a little menu…they’re in the photo section.
